About Us
Brooklyn born. Southeast Queens raised.
Before the LLC, before the labels, before the shield — there was a kitchen table in Southeast Queens.
Sea moss in a mason jar on the counter. Fèy teas simmering on the stove. A mother who spoke about food as medicine before "wellness" was a marketing category. A Haitian household, with Rasta influence across the street — Ital is Vital, one love, natural living, respect for the plant.
That's where Brave Botanix comes from. Not a lab. Not a pitch deck. A Caribbean-American household that already knew.
Where we come from
Our founder was born in Brooklyn and raised in the Southeast Queens corridor — not just a zip code. The Southside and its surrounding communities — what most people call Jamaica, Queens — are a cultural engine.
Jamaica. St. Albans. Cambria Heights. Rosedale. Springfield Gardens. Laurelton. Queens Village. Seven neighborhoods on one long stretch of Black excellence and Caribbean-American power — home to the largest Haitian, Jamaican, Guyanese, and Trinidadian communities in NYC, and one of the deepest Black middle-class strongholds in the country.
Every corner has a name. Merrick. Guy R. Brewer. Springfield. Baisley. 109th. Murdock. Farmers. Linden. This is the founder's block — and Brave Botanix carries that weight into everything we ship.
One enclave became the African-American Gold Coast — a Black stronghold when the rest of the city was closed off. Ella Fitzgerald. Count Basie. Lena Horne. John Coltrane. James Brown. Jackie Robinson. W.E.B. Du Bois — all lived on these blocks.
Two generations later, the same streets raised the next wave: Run-D.M.C. LL Cool J. Russell Simmons. 50 Cent. Phife Dawg. Nicki Minaj. Bob Cousy.
Same blocks. Same soil. New shield.
Founded by one of The Bravest
The founder grew up on those blocks and went to work in three uniforms:
- Bunker gear. An FDNY firefighter — one of The Bravest — running into what everyone else runs from.
- Scrubs. An Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in underserved community hospitals — the same neighborhoods the brand was built to serve.
- Flight suit. A USAF Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Nurse moving wounded warriors through the air.
A first-generation Haitian-American serving the city, the hospital, and the country — all at once.
During the pandemic, he worked the NYC COVID Emergency Department at the epicenter of the outbreak — while also serving his rookie year on the FDNY. Two of the hardest jobs in America. At the deadliest moment in modern American healthcare.
That's not marketing. That's the résumé behind the brand.
Brave Botanix wasn't built from a boardroom. It was built from 24-hour tours, 16-hour ED shifts, and USAF flight missions — and from the reality that the people carrying the most weight in this country (first responders, healthcare workers, military, athletes, and the everyday warriors from the block) are the same people getting sold the worst supplement marketing on the shelf.
We're not another vitamin company. We're a performance-wellness brand built by a warrior, for warriors — on top of wellness knowledge our people have carried for generations.
What the name means
The word Brave carries three meanings at once — and every one of them is earned:
- The Bravest. The FDNY's own nickname. Our founder wears the patch.
- Home of the Brave. America — the nation whose first responders, service members, and everyday warriors keep the lights on. Our founder wears the USAF uniform.
- Courage. The personal virtue that shows up in every tour, every shift, every training block, every hard morning. Our founder lives it.
Botanix — for the plants, minerals, and ancestral ingredients behind every formula. Sea moss. Fèy. Roots that grew in the earth long before we started paving over it. Herbal knowledge older than the pharmacy.
Every capsule, powder, and elixir is a shield — a daily act of protection, performance, and self-respect.
From Zile Santé to Brave Botanix
The company was organized in New York on April 17, 2024, as Zile Santé LLC — Haitian Kreyòl for Health Island. A direct nod to the founder's Haitian roots and the herbal medicine traditions of the Caribbean and the African diaspora.
Fèy medicine. Remèd fèy. Sea moss. Ginger. Moringa. Sour-sop leaf. Generations of plant knowledge older than any pharmacy.
On August 1, 2024, we rebranded to Brave Botanix LLC and the mission got sharper: honor that ancestral knowledge, hold it to modern science and quality standards, and build wellness for the people who actually keep this country running.
Ancestral ingredients meet the concrete jungle
Brave Botanix lives where two worlds meet — what grew in the earth and what got built on top of it. Sea moss on the bodega counter. Fèy in a Southeast Queens kitchen. Ashwagandha root breaking through pavement. Shilajit on a subway grate. Nature's oldest tools, engineered for the city that never lets up.
This is wellness that doesn't ask you to move to the mountains or buy $80 celery juice. It's wellness that meets you on your commute, your tour, your shift, your training block, your late night.
Who we serve
Brave Botanix is built for modern warriors:
- Military and veterans
- Firefighters, EMS, law enforcement
- Healthcare professionals — nurses, NPs, PAs, physicians, techs
- Athletes and everyday competitors
- Biohackers and high-performance lifestyle heads
- The urban and diaspora communities that have been practicing ancestral wellness long before it went mainstream
We speak to the block and to the boardroom because the same person is often in both.
Mission
To fortify modern warriors with clean, science-informed, culturally fluent wellness — and to raise health literacy in the communities that need it most.
We make it easier to understand what you're putting in your body, why it works, and how to build routines that hold up under real-world pressure. Wellness shouldn't be a luxury or a language barrier.
Vision
A world where every warrior — from the frontline to the block — has access to premium, transparent, community-rooted wellness. Where reading a supplement label feels as natural as reading a menu.
Where herbal knowledge that traveled through the African diaspora, the Caribbean, Rastafari livity, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Indigenous practice is honored — and held to modern quality standards.
That's the shield we're building.
What we stand for
- Courage & Commitment. We serve the people who serve. Grit is a prerequisite, not a marketing angle.
- Rooted in Nature. Botanical, mineral, and nutrient-rich ingredients, chosen with intention, not filler. When something isn't plant-based — collagen, honey, marine sources — we say so plainly.
- Performance with Purpose. Every product supports something real: stamina, recovery, focus, resilience, longevity. No miracle claims. No hype. Just tools.
- Clean, Transparent, Tested. GMP-compliant manufacturing. Third-party testing. COAs available on request. If we won't stake the brand on it, we don't sell it.
- Built for Resilience. Made for 24-hour tours, ED shifts, USAF AE missions, and daily pressure — because that's the life our founder lives, and the life our people live.
- Community First. Brave Botanix isn't just a brand — it's a movement toward normalizing wellness in communities that have historically been sold hype, marked up, or ignored. We put education on the same shelf as the product.
